Dark Monolith is Book 3 of Heroes of Ravenford, by F. P. Spirit (2nd Revised Edition, 2018; about 143,500 words in 38 chapters; cover art by Jackson Tjota). It follows Serpent Cult and is the furthest this wiki currently goes. Read Ruins on Stone Hill and Serpent Cult first.
The morning after Andrella’s birthday gala, Ravenford is counting its wounded. The companions have a lead worth chasing: the Serpent Cult wants something left over from the age of Larketh, the Golem Thrall Master, and it is hidden in the Darkwoods. First, though, there is trouble at home. An accusation from the Dunwynn camp puts the companions’ honour on trial, and the only answer is a fight in the keep’s arena.
Then the road leads south, past Stone Hill and on to the lakeside town of Vermoorden, and up a river into the Darkwoods. A fortune teller whose cards brought her to Ravenford travels with them, and so do the Knights of the Rose. Ahead lies an ancient monolith full of traps, puzzles, and magic older than anyone alive, with the cult racing them to whatever is inside.
The chapter titles trace the journey: from ‘Heals and Heels’ and ‘The Fortune Teller’ through ‘Lloyd vs. Fafnar’, ‘Road to Vermoorden’, and ‘Battle of the Bards’, to ‘Into the Darkwoods’, ‘Inside the Monolith’, and ‘The Golem Master’s Secret’.
Book 3 closes by naming Book 4, Princess of Lanfor. This wiki stops at the end of Book 3. For what happens, open the After Book 2 sections on the character, place, and faction pages.
