Penwick sits at the mouth of the River Penderbun — once one of the richest cities of eastern Thac, now still large (about 120,000 souls) but worn by a century of hard war.
Book 1 ties it to Ravenford through Lloyd Stealle’s family and the coastal world of fleets and old pirate wars; the Penwick navy patrols from Colossus Point to Southpoint. House Avernos of Ravenford is the same house as the Baron of Penwick.
